Turkish Simit

Turkey's most beloved street food, the Simit is a circular sesame-crusted bread ring that has been a staple since the 16th century Ottoman Empire. Each simit is hand-twisted from two ropes of dense, chewy dough, dipped in a molasses glaze, then generously rolled in roasted sesame seeds before being oven-baked to golden perfection.
