So what is karak?
Karak means "strong"
It's the tea the Gulf runs on, sold at roadside cafés from Dubai to Doha, day and night.
Boiled, not brewed
Black tea is boiled with whole cardamom, cloves and cinnamon. Then the milk goes in and it's brought to the boil a few times.
Made fresh, by hand
Whole spices and real milk in our own kitchen. No powders, no syrups, no tea bags.
So what is masala chai?
Spicier than karak
The same base as our karak, with more ginger, plus black pepper and black seed. Warmer, with a little kick.
Masala means "spice mix"
Masala chai is milk tea made with a mix of warming spices.
Boiled, not brewed
Made like our karak: black tea is boiled with whole spices, then the milk goes in and it's brought to the boil a few times.
